The University of Technology and Arts of Byumba (UTAB) has announced a new financial support opportunity for students seeking to pursue undergraduate studies at the university through a partnership with Chancen International.
The opportunity is offered under the “Study Now–Pay Later” financial scheme, which aims to help eligible students access higher education by supporting their education costs during their period of study. According to the announcement, students who benefit from the program will start repayment after graduation once they begin earning an income, following the conditions of the Income Share Agreement (ISA).
The financial support program is available for undergraduate students joining UTAB Byumba Campus in the Day Program mode. The eligible fields of study include Bachelor of Science with Honours in Animal Production, Bachelor of Science with Honours in Crop Production, Bachelor of Science with Honours in Forestry and Natural Resources Management, Bachelor of Science with Honours in Renewable Energy, and Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Social Work.
Through the Chancen’s Income Share Agreement, selected students will receive financial assistance during their studies and will repay the support after completing their education and entering the workforce. The scheme is designed to reduce financial barriers and allow more students to pursue higher education opportunities.
Students interested in applying are required to submit their applications online through the UTAB Management Information System (UMIS) and The deadline for submitting applications is 19 July 2026.
Applicants must provide required documents, including a notarized copy of their Secondary Education Certificate showing at least 50% marks or two principal passes for students who completed secondary school before 2024, as well as a copy of their National Identity Card.
UTAB stated that applicants must meet the university’s admission requirements and satisfy the eligibility conditions established by Chancen International. The university also clarified that being admitted to UTAB does not automatically guarantee financial support.
Selected candidates will also be required to participate in a mandatory Chancen’s Income Share Agreement workshop together with their guardians before starting their studies.
