A business delegation from Rwanda, including entrepreneurs from the Indian community living in Rwanda, participated in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2026 in India, strengthening economic ties and exploring new opportunities for trade, investment, and partnerships between the two countries.

The delegation attended the international business event, which was officially inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Rwanda participated in the summit as a partner country, highlighting the growing cooperation between Rwanda and India in areas including business, healthcare, investment, and technology.

During the summit, the Rwandan delegation met with Jacqueline Mukangira, Rwanda’s High Commissioner to India. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ways of strengthening business relations and encouraging more partnerships between Rwandan and Indian investors.

Speaking during the event, Ambassador Mukangira emphasized the importance of the relationship between Rwanda and India, noting that India is one of Rwanda’s major economic partners and the country’s second-largest trading partner.

She encouraged more business collaboration between the two nations, saying that Rwandans are ready and willing to expand trade relations with India.

“Rwandans will be happy to do trade with India,” she said, while highlighting the potential for increased cooperation in different sectors.

The High Commissioner also expressed her appreciation for meeting the Rwandan delegation during the summit, describing their participation as an important step in promoting Rwanda’s business opportunities and attracting international partnerships.

Among the participants was Saurabh Singhal, a businessman operating in Rwanda’s healthcare sector. During the summit, Dr. Singhal signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Indian partners, opening opportunities for future cooperation and investment in healthcare-related projects.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is one of India’s leading international investment and business platforms, bringing together governments, investors, entrepreneurs, and global companies to discuss economic growth and partnerships.

Rwanda’s participation reflects the country’s continued efforts to strengthen international trade links, attract foreign investment, and create new opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs. The partnership between Rwanda and India has continued to grow in recent years, with cooperation expanding across sectors such as commerce, education, healthcare, technology and innovation.
