Rwandan rapper Papa Cyangwe has taken a major step in his relationship after proposing to his longtime partner, Christa Tete, raising expectations that the couple could soon hold their wedding ceremony.
The artist, whose real name is Abijuru King Lewis, recently confirmed the engagement after presenting Christa Tete with a ring and asking her to marry him. The romantic moment quickly attracted attention from fans and followers on social media, where the couple has often shared affectionate messages and photos.
In an interview with IGIHE, Papa Cyangwe expressed happiness about the progress in their relationship and revealed that their wedding is expected to happen before the end of 2026. Although he did not disclose the exact date, he suggested that preparations are already in motion.
âThe step we have taken is something we are very happy about. I canât say the wedding is tomorrow or the next day, but it will happen soon. I donât think this year will end before we get married,â he said.
Papa Cyangwe first publicly introduced Christa Tete and their first child in October 2025. Since then, the couple has continued to attract admiration online, with many fans praising their relationship and family life.
Aside from his personal milestones, the rapper is also focusing on his music career and is currently preparing to release his third studio album. The upcoming project will follow his previous album, Now or Never, which was released last year.
Over the years, Papa Cyangwe has become one of Rwandaâs recognized hip-hop artists through songs such as Mama Cyangwe, Ngaho, Nzoze, Sana, Bambe, Kunsutsu, Sitaki, We Sha, Wajyaga He, Yale Yale, and Nyonga.
