Kwibohora, meaning "Liberation" in Kinyarwanda, is observed every year on July 4 to commemorate the end of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and the liberation of Rwanda by the Rwanda Patriotic Army (RPA), led by President Paul Kagame. The day symbolizes the country's resilience, unity, and determination to rebuild after one of the darkest chapters in its history. Today, Liberation Day is celebrated as a reminder of Rwanda's progress in promoting peace, security, inclusive governance, and socio-economic development.
